Foster or Adopt Lucy, severely abused female pit bull

Looking at Lucy and hearing her story would make even the strongest person want to cry. She has lived a horrible, painful life..

Lucy, a 3 1/2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, didn’t always look like this. This is the result of the awful abuse she endured while living in Bogota, Colombia before coming to the U.S.

The beatings she took from her former owner were so bad that her nose and jaw were broken and since they were not properly set, they healed the way she now looks.. To correct it, the bones would have to be broken and reset, which would be awful.

But Lucy is beautiful, special, and unique in her own way.

Some of her teeth were pulled so she could not fight off male dogs during repeated matings. She was able to get away but then found herself on the streets, emaciated and pregnant until someone saved her.

This poor girl has had one sad, tragic, and tortured life so far.

She is now looking for a forever home where she can find the love, caring, acceptance, and safety she’s missed out on so far.  She is shy with strangers, never aggressive, and needs to build up confidence with dogs and people, but she’s just the sweetest girl who loves belly rubs. She is now spayed, up-to-date on shots, and has no trouble eating.

She is currently in boarding in New York and needs our help to find her special someone to take her home to receive unconditional love and happiness. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to Lucy by fostering or adopting, please email vividogwalker@gmail.com

Adopt This Dog!

George is a male Wheaten Terrier, neutered, vaccines current. He is 7 years old, is on medication for life for Cushing’s (runs $60 per month from VetDepot.com). He came to our rescue in May 2009 with 4 dogs & 3 cats from a large animal hording case in No. CA., the people were convicted of animal abuse & neglect. George was featured on local news several times as these animals healed & became healthier –our rescue need financial assistance to support all the medical needs and the media helped us. George is just a very happy go lucky guy, he loves other dogs-lives with 8, good with cats, children. He loves walks, car rides. He loves lying around on warm sunny days hanging out with his canine & human buddies. He has an adorable bounce in his step when he runs & greets you. He has human like HUGE, beautiful brown eyes that twinkle. George needs a yard and will not be a house dog due to his Cushing’s as he needs to urinate on demand! A yard with good dirt or concrete area included that can be washed down would be ideal. He loves to wear his winter sweaters, likes baths in his wading pool and enjoys running our acre of land greeting the other dogs & neighboring horses. If you are the one for George please contact us-he is just a sweetheart of a dog.

Adopt This Dog! Tyson 9 year old blind wheaton terrier

Meet Tyson! Tyson is a 9 year old blind wheaton terrier, dumped in a shelter when his owner died. We scooped him right up because he is so sweet.  he is a very gentle dog, responds to the sound of a voice and wags his tail.  He needs a home where he will be taken on walks, kept safe due to blindness and stimulated.  When we rescued him he was not responsive and was depressed.  Interactions with our other dogs and humans brought him around and he is now the sweetie pie that we knew he always was. Just shows you what a little TLC can do.!  please visit our sites for more infomation at:
